For those of you who love some length in their earrings like me, I have several pairs of stirrup earrings with the “leathers” attached! In this case, the leathers are nickel silver so they have the look of silver without the price tag. I myself have always preferred long earrings; maybe it’s my short hair! These are fun and have lots of play!
The stirrup irons are sterling silver and the bottom of the stirrups are copper. I love the contrast of the silver and copper so I wanted to do at least one pair with this variation. After soldering each copper oval shape together, I then formed it to mimic the bottom of the stirrup. Once I was happy with the shape and size, I soldered down the sterling silver “irons”. I’ve also added a patina only to the copper to give it that perfect rustic look and to add to the contrast with the shine of the silver!
And as you know, all the earrings in my shop have solid sterling silver ear wires for comfort and quality!
