As with my custom horse necklaces, I hammer texture the sterling silver sheet then hand-saw out the marking. Once it is sanded properly, I solder it down onto the copper horse head (also hand-sawed out). Once I have stamped out each letter by hand (one at a time) on the back of the round copper key chain, the whole horse head is soldered down to the back plate. Lastly, I finish it with a sterling silver tube rivet through the hole where the split ring goes. The silver is a much harder metal compared to the copper. Therefore it adds not only additional durability but it also compliments the silver of the marking.
