This buckle is sterling silver and copper. It also has sterling silver findings (where the belt attaches). I hammer texture the horse and rider then saw out the design. After the horse and rider are sawed out, I sand and clean up all the edges and flow solder across the entire back of the piece. Then I solder that whole piece down to the back plate. I’ve updated this design slightly by sawing out the space between the horse and rider’s arms from the back plate. Finally I hammer out the back so it has that appealing curve and then solder the findings onto the back. I’ve included an image with the other two options so you can easily see the size comparisons.
