Who's George?

Named Georgeann after my grandfather George Frank Seymour, I have always loved my name. I grew up in the south as “George” to my family and closest friends, so it naturally became my business name!

When you purchase a piece from my store, you know from start to finish it was “George” who designed and hand-fabricated it. I take great pride in my work and hope that you will appreciate the craftsmanship as much as I enjoy the process. Throughout my collections, you will see influences that helped shape my life. The biggest being the privilege of riding and showing hunter jumpers. Although I never showed after graduating from high school, it remains one of my greatest memories. I loved working hard towards a goal and then entering the show ring just me and my mount, striving to show off my dedication.

After graduating in 2008 from East Carolina University’s Fine Arts department in Metal Design, my adventurous heart took me out west to Montana. There I worked physically harder than I have ever known; caring for over forty horses and ensuring each tourist had a safe and enjoyable trail ride through the breath-taking beauty of Glacier National Park. After returning home to North Carolina, I began teaching an introduction to metal design class at a local art gallery. During this time, I also managed a hunter jumper stables close to where I grew up in Goldsboro, North Carolina. I juggled my three part time jobs and working in my home studio for over a year before I knew I had to make a change and soon!

Although I loved being near my family, my desire to make metal work a priority soon took me to Black Mountain, North Carolina. There I found many wonderful opportunities, from apprenticing with master goldsmith Roberto Vengoechea to working one part time job conveniently close to my home. In the gorgeous mountains, I also met and a short two years later married my husband, Daniel. After marrying we moved to Belmont, North Carolina, where he works for his (and now our) family business. A short six months after we married, we bought our three bedroom/two bath house in Gastonia. Several years later, our hearts and bedrooms are overflowing with our three wild and amazing children! Through babies and COVID, I have remained working in my studio creating one-of-a-kind wears for my customers to treasure. I am so thankful for a space to be me while also raising my three extraordinary children. My husband and I are a team and throughout these ever changing years, he remains my best friend and number one fan.

When someone contacts me to create a custom order, whether it’s a saddle plate or more simply, a pair of earrings; I wish to reveal what encompasses their originality. Therefore the piece they wear is uniquely cherished by them because it is connected to the things, people or animals that set them apart. Although a large portion of my orders are custom designs, most of the work you will see throughout my collections of one-of-a-kind jewelry, embodies a style of uniqueness. No two pieces are exactly the same! Each piece demands a second look and when you wear it, you will too!

I love what I do and I hope that it shows! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about me. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
