I had the privilege to be a vendor at The Fork in 2017 held at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, NC. In preparation for the show (among other things), I created my very first Eventing/Horse Trials belt buckle and I am in love with it!
I used a thicker gauge copper for the back plate than I usually do on my hunter jumper buckles, and it turned out beautifully! The dressage, cross country jumper and the stadium jumper are hammer textured sterling silver. After I carefully hammer then saw each one out, I solder the entire back surface of each separately to the back plate of copper. As added fun, I stamped “HAVE A GOOD RIDE” on the back and then soldered that plate down. The findings (where you attach the buckle to the belt) are sterling silver as well. This buckle was meant to sore over the fences with you!
